Jacobs ladder

This is the view down the valley as we went inland. This is Jamestown the main hub of shops and banks.

This is the view from the top of Jacobs ladder, you can see why I stayed at the bottom! It was built in 1829 and is still used.

  1. Dear Sea Wolff, As I predicted your reaction to St Helena is one of great appreciation. I cheated and went to the top of Jacobs ladder and the camp by car!! (509 steps if I remember correctly up Cologne Cathedral was once in a lifetime!) Super to see old Jonathan again. Pros and Cons re airport - by comparison with Tenerife the tranquility and uniqueness of St Helena would be lost forever. Travel safely to Ascension - remember that Eric had to take his dog there with a broken leg!
